This room is dedicated to Miss Isabella Venable Carrington the sister that taught Music and Embroidery at the Sunnyside School for Young Ladies.
Miss Belle was born January 28, 1837 as the sixth daughter of Tucker Carrington and Mary Watkins Carrington. It seems that Miss Belle was the quiet one of the four sisters that ran the school. She was in charge of the housekeeping and feeding the hungry mouths, and so she was a favorite for the young ladies who lived at Sunnyside.
Miss Belle died on November 17, 1915 at the age of 78 years. She is laid to rest at the Johnson-Carrington cemetery here on the property.
